Klap Klap Records logo development.

The initial logo for Klap Klap records for me had the right content but was not executed in the right way. The logo was a photo style stencil of hands clapping together. I stayed with the simple concept of the hands but instead of the photo style stencil i opted for the more icon/pictogram version of hands in the clapping position. This is a much simpler form that can be applied across a number a mediums and scale's.

The hand icon was developed from the original that I created to be more balanced visually keeping the fingers and thumbs shorter but at the same time in proportion to the hand.

In initial ideas i tried to indicate the 'clap noise' by positioning the type in a manor that suggested the noise Clap Clap it was evident that doing this was not enough.

Helvetica is being used as this is the typeface as that has been used in the original and it suits the target audience and label's needs.

I think the symbol/logo/icon is visually strong enough to be used with type to enforce that the audience knows the brand but also when brand awareness is achieved the type can be taken away to leave just the logo.
